Cost: $60 for 1hour session or $85 for 1 1/2hr session
Reflexology relieves stress and pain while profoundly relaxing
the nervous system.
Improving circulation, cleansing the body of toxins and impurities, balancing bodily functions and revitalizing energy.
Reflex points on the hands and feet are connected to organs, glands and other parts of the body.
What to expect during a reflexology session:
A full Reflexology session lasts 60 minutes. You will be asked to fill out a short client history form which will be briefly reviewed by the Reflexologist at the beginning of your session.
Any concerns you have will be discussed before the session begins.
The client relaxes on a comfortable massage table fully clothed, only removing socks and shoes. You will enjoy soft instrumental music and the soothing sensation of sensitive practiced hands. Maggie integrates an exercised pressure with her thumbs and fingers to specific reflex areas on the hands or feet which effect their corresponding body parts, along with percussive technology. Your Reflexologist will communicate with you always and only apply pressure to your comfort level. Some tender reflexes might be identified, but the session should not cause any pain.
The session leaves you feeling relaxed and energized, with a renewed sense of well-being.
Here are just some of the benefits of Reflexology:
Anxiety/Tension Headaches : Deep relaxation releases the endorphins as mentioned above in pain mgmt. The effect takes place in the nervous system which promotes that "Euphoric feeling". Circulation improves, lymphatic movement is enhanced and the body's natural pain relieve chemicals are triggered.
Stress: A factor in 75% of all diseases. Reflexology possesses the capacity to cancel out effects off stress and have the body reach deep relaxation and balance the body's systems.
Circulation: Stress & Tension tighten up the cardiovascular system and restrict blood flow. Circulation becomes sluggish causing high & low blood pressure. By reducing stress and tension, reflexology allows the vessels to allow the flow of blood naturally and eliminates toxins.
Pain management: Reflexology promotes the production of endorphins in the body. Endorphins are the " feel good" hormones which act on the nervous system to help reduce pain. (ie: cancers, muscular/skeletal, fibromyalgia, osteo/rheumatoid arthritis)
Arthritis: Pain relief – The existing research into the effectiveness of reflexology in treating arthritis has concentrated on its ability to reduce pain or the need for pain medications. Regular treatments have been shown to decrease pain sensations. It is likely that reflexology works in a similar manner to acupuncture by causing the brain to release chemicals that lessen pain signals."
Neuropathy: Reflexology improves circulation thus bringing back feeling and helps to desensitize pain from damaged nerves, relieves pins and needles sensation.
Plantar Fasciitis: Inflammation and pain on the plantar(bottom) of the foot. Fascia tightens while we sleep and when you wake and stand up, it gets overstretched and causes pain. Rest, ice, stretching, reflexology and soaking feet help to alleviate the pain..
**Reflexology is recommended as a complementary therapy and should not replace medical treatment.
**Reflexologist are not doctors, they do not diagnose or prescribe.
